Come and celebrate with Johannesburg Opera and mother-and-daughter team, Tessa and La-la. Johannesburg Opera feel blessed and honoured to be collaborating with Ristorante La Trinita in 2020 to bring the audience monthly Dinner Concerts. Johannesburg Opera will present a Celebration of Neapolitan songs. The Neapolitan song became a formal institution in the 1830s due to a song writing competition. The music was popularized abroad by Enrico Caruso. Johannesburg Opera is grateful for the support of Tessa and La-La, who have opened their home/restaurant for a celebration of opera music and art. The audience will be entertained with some their favourite Neapolitan songs such as O sole mio, Santa Lucia luntana, Core ‘ngrato, Mattinata and Non ti scordar di me, to name a few.
On 01 March 2020, Ristorante La Trinita celebrates 22 years and has served top quality Italian food, merging the specialities of three cities, Bologna, Napoli and Perugia, at its finest. With a simple formula of QUALITY, they offer an unrivalled menu of delectable dishes that reflect Italy’s most traditional elements of food and culinary style. La Trinita is an award-winning restaurant. Tessa and La-la from Ristorante La Trinita will have an exciting menu ready for the evening. La Trinita has a vast a la carte menu available and delectable wines on sale.
Owners Tessa and La-la donate all the profits generated from this evening to Johannesburg Opera and any further support will be welcomed and appreciated. Performing on the night will be the talented Founder and Managing Director of Johannesburg Opera, Phenye Modiane (tenor). He will be accompanied by a Japanese pianist Azuna Umeo.
